Nagaland govt issues precautionary measures; to disinfect public transports

The Government of Nagaland through the Ministry of transport, Civil Aviation & Land Resources has issued a notice to take precautionary measures in order to halt the possible spread of the COVID-19 disease. The Department of Health and Family Welfare has been put on high alert and were instructed to take precautionary measures to prevent the infection and spread of the coronavirus in the state on March 13.

The statement issued by P Paiwang Konyak, Nagaland Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and Land Resources read:

“In the wake of general public being grip by fear and apprehension of COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in the country. The Government of Nagaland is deeply concern regarding the outburst of the Coronavirus and the department of Health & Family Welfare has been put on high alert to take precautionary measures to prevent the infection and spread of the Novel Coronavirus in the state by issuing advisories, awareness campaign and setting up transitory quarantine points.
In view of this, Secretary, Transport may write to the concern department to spray disinfectant to public Transport i.e State Helicopters, Buses and Taxies covering all districts in the state as precautionary exercise.”
