Two Manipuri women arrested with heroin in Shillong

Meghalaya police on Thursday arrested two Manipuri women drugs smugglers and seized heroin worth nearly 75 lakh in the street market, police said   Acting on a tip-off,  the Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) team of East Khasi Hills District raided the house of Vansosiem at Demthring Block-I here and seized 32 soap cases containing suspected heroin weighing 393.38 grams, street value of which is approximately Rs. 74,74,220. Vansosiem is originally from Saiden Village in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.

Police said they have also arrested Kimboi Hmar in this connection.

Further, they said that they are not ruling out further arrests and investigating the criminal conspiracy involved in bringing alleged contraband from Manipur to Shillong.

Meanwhile, police have booked the arrested persons under NDPS Act.
